So I’m sure you’re aware that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck recently split up (again), after two years of marriage. It’s the talk of the town.
The pair got back together in 2021 after breaking off their first engagement back in 2004 — so yeah, these two have a very long history.
And another person Ben Affleck has a long history with? Matt Damon. The pair grew up together, joined the industry together, costarred in several movies, and even wrote Good Will Hunting together, for which they won their first Oscars.

Yes, they also won Golden Globes for the movie, too. Deservedly so.
Essentially, they’re a dynamic duo, a lifelong pair of BFFs.
And Matt Damon — who has been married to producer Luciana Barroso since 2005 — was also a big supporter of J.Lo and Ben’s relationship.
In 2021, when rumours began circling that the couple was getting back together, Matt responded by praising them: “I love them both. I hope it’s true. That would be awesome.”
So you’d think that Matt’s closeness with Ben would mean that he wouldn’t have much to do with J.Lo now that she and Ben are no longer together. Right?
BUT WE ARE MISTAKEN. Because there’s a new development in all this drama, and it’s HUGE. Last weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), both Matt Damon and Jennifer Lopez were at an afterparty for the premiere of their new movie, Unstoppable…
…and at said party, Matt and J.Lo were seen sitting together, having a “long, deep conversation.” While HOLDING HANDS.
Meanwhile, although Ben Affleck was also a producer on the movie alongside Matt Damon, he wasn’t at the premiere or afterparty.
I know, I know — it’s shocking. But if you think about it, they’ve known each other for a long time, so Matt is probably just supporting J.Lo as a friend.
Anyway, that’s the tea for today. We’ll be sure to update you on any new developments — but for now, it looks like J.Lo truly is WINNING. And we love to see it.
